Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Where do you book promotions? Where are you located?
A. We staff nationwide, and welcome talent and clients from all States. Our Headquarters is located in Los Angeles, and we have a Denver Branch. Jobs are booked out of each office on a program by program basis. Talent and clients shared between our locations.
Q. How do I find out about jobs?
A. Once an application is received, you are added to our database and will be emailed directly when we have jobs in your area! Make sure to list all the cities for which you wish to receive booking requests in the "Markets" section of your online application, and keep your email address current at all times!
Q. Do I have to work every week(end)?
A. No! You will only be booked if programs are available in your area and you are available and want to work!
Q. How long do jobs generally last?
A. Job length varies by type and client! Some jobs run for 15 weeks straight, while others are one night only. We will always specify the schedule when we send you booking notices, and of course you only accept the jobs you WANT to work!
Q. How much do the promo jobs pay?
A. Different promotions pay different amounts. The rates for each job will be included in the booking notices you are emailed, once signed up. You will always make at least $13-15 per hour.
Q. How soon do I get paid after a job?
A. Our standard Payment period is 30-45 days post-event contingent on the following: complete execution of booked programs, complete reporting and/or timesheet/proof of presence submissions (if applicable), material return (if applicable), client payment. We issue talent payment within 24 hours of client payment receipt. A payment update will be emailed to you notifying you when checks are issued.
Q. How do I get signed with Talent Squad, Inc.?
A. Once you are booked for a job, you will be sent our Talent Squad Paperwork, which includes a profile, Independent Contractor Agreement, Policies/Confidentiality Form, and a W-9. These forms must be returned to Talent Squad with a copy of your Driver’s License/I.D./passport and social security card. The contracts will be applicable for any program you work and are only required once.
Q. Am/Will I be an employee of Talent Squad, Inc.?
A. No. You are/will be an independent contractor NOT an employee, which means we do not subtract taxes from your pay, nor do we provide any company benefits or workmen's compensation. You are required to carry your own Health, as well as Auto Insurance (if booked as a Driver). If you make in excess of $600 in one calendar year, you will receive a Form 1099 from our company to be used for tax purposes. Please keep your mailing address up-to-date with us!
Q. Are Talent Squad Contracts exclusive agreements? What does it mean? Why do you need my Social Security Number?
A. The Talent Squad Contracts are NOT exclusive agreements, you can work with anyone you choose. Signing the agreements simply means that you understand you are an independent contractor, and you accept the responsibilities that go along with each particular job. We require your Social Security Number on a W-9 for tax purposes. You will receive a Form 1099 for tax purposes from Talent Squad, only if you earn in excess of $600 in one calendar year. Earning of less than $600, should be reported at your discretion and you should consult your tax preparer for additional information and advise.
Q. How can I update my information if I move, get a new telephone number, want to work in a different market or decide to not work for awhile?
A. It's easy! Just email the office (Los Angeles or Denver) you have been working with and the changes will be made.
Q. Is there room for growth?
A. Yes! If you are dependable, responsible and do a good job, you will be eligible to manage various promotions in your market, as well as nationwide tours.
Q. What kind of photo should I send in with my Application?
A. While professional photos are wonderful and welcomed, they are not required. We simply need at least 1-2 photos that LOOK like you currently do, where we can clearly see your face! You can always send additional photos to add to your file. Note, no nude photos please!
